One hundred and fifty years in the slammer seems like a firm ending to a financial horror story. But when it comes to the world of Bernard Madoff, things are rarely what they seem. Just a day after Bernie went from penthouse to big house, a Reuters story suggested up to 10 more people could face legal action in relation to the fraud. Madoff's sentence starts a whole new chapter in the drama—this time for his inner circle.

The Gist:

"The small-town accountant," according to the Telegraph, who allegedly helped Madoff in the multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme. In March, Friehling was charged with securities fraud, aiding and abetting investment adviser fraud, and submitting false audit reports. He was released on a $2.5 million bond.
