Cramer Gets His Bonus

Cramer Gets His Bonus

When the banks win, he wins.

Update, May 15, 4:30 p.m. ET: Bad news for banks this week from the White House: President Obama chided credit card issuers for unfair practices and warned that he's seriously considering limits on executive compensation. Cramer's finance-friendly portfolio finished up the week unscathed, however, as JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC) stocks still look strong. As for our portfolio, we got a nice bump from Target (TGT), which is up 15 percent since the inauguration. Analysts say that its customer traffic is on the rise for the first time in months. The discount retailer was also encouraged by a less-than-dazzling earnings report from its main competitor, Wal-Mart (WMT) on Thursday.

The Big Money: $12,865.04 (up 28.65 percent since the inauguration).

Cramer: $10,544.48 (up 5.44 percent since the inauguration).

Update, May 8, 4:30 p.m. ET: We weren't worried about the bank test results that came out this week, but Cramer's portfolio could have taken a hit. Lucky for him, most banks fared better than expected, so financial stocks have enjoyed a nice boost these past two days. JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) shares rose at the encouraging news that the bank will not be asked to raise more capital, and even Wells Fargo (WFC), which got less-flattering test results, hasn't seen its stock value drop. Overall, the banks' shares are up 85 percent and 68 percent, respectively, since the inauguration. Our top-performing stock is still J.Crew (JCG), which has doubled in value since then.

Father's Day gift

Father's Day is now approaching. You need to go out and get a Father's Day Gift. You spent more time thinking about what you were getting for Mother's Day – admit it – and you should do more for the other person who gave you life. (It takes two to tango, so to speak.) The role of the father is just as important, and getting a few holiday gift ideas, maybe some advance loans to do something nice for dear old Dad would be a great idea. (Mom didn't teach you how to do a brake job, change a flat, or use power tools, now did she? Fess up!) Some short term loans to do something nice or a great Father's Day gift would be well spent.
