Video Mash-Up Best Part of Starbucks Meeting

Video of Starbucks' annual shareholders meeting, held earlier Wednesday in Seattle, is now up on the company's Web site.

Not much news was made, and there were no big announcements. It was as simple and subdued as advertised. CEO Howard Schultz said he planned to wring $500 million worth of costs out of the company this year, and he reiterated his enthusiasm for the new Via instant coffee and the breakfast value meal the company has started offering. He defended both against the notion that they take the chain downscale, and addressed the "myth of the $4 cup of coffee."

The best thing about the whole meeting was the video played at the very end: a beautifully produced mashup of street musicians from around the world performing "Stand By Me." It doesn't appear to be available separately, so far.
