Daniel Craig: Smoothie Star

Daniel Craig: Smoothie Star

Sorry, America, but you won't have the chance to run your tongues across the icy, bare, chiseled chest of Bond movie star Daniel Craig. A limited-edition, Craig-shaped "ice lolly" (frozen smoothie) is available only in the United Kingdom.

It's part of a promotion of National Ice Cream Week. Del Monte Foods (an American company, it should be noted) ran a poll asking 1,000 British women who is "Britain's Coolest Smoothie." Craig beat out Tom Jones, Jude Law, and Hugh Grant (the latter perhaps having sent shivers down the spines of too many respondents).

UPDATE, Tuesday June 2: It turns out that, despite what every media outlet in the world said on Monday, Del Monte is NOT behind this promotion. Frederick's Dairies, a company in the United Kingdom that licenses the Del Monte name, is the actual ice sculptor. More details here.

In what had to be a prepared statement, a Fredericks spokesman told Brand Republic that the Craig lolly is "super smooth and licensed to chill."
