Google Earnings Alert!

Google is scheduled to announce how it did in the third quarter this afternoon, and Portfolio’s San Gustin has compiled a list of items to pay attention to when the company spills its guts. Online ad spending will stay strong but not rise at the same levels it has in the past. Chrome hasn’t worked too well, and company execs will probably talk about tweaking the browser and challenging Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. The Android smart phone has already sold out, and company reps will want to boast how they’ll use the sales to expand mobile search advertising. But analysts will want to hear a lot about YouTube’s struggling fortunes, as well as whether the Yahoo deal will survive the Justice Department. It all goes down later today!
