Roll Me
Roll Me
When somebody starts a new website, it’s sort of like shining a beacon of light in the midst of a very thick and dark forest. You know the light is on, but you don’t know if anybody can actually see it. Folks, your emails have let me know that you can see the light, and I dare say that you’ve lit up my life as a result.
But, friends, we have more work to do. I believe in LOLEconz, and the kind of insight the medium can provide to people who otherwise wouldn’t be interested in business coverage. If you’ve noticed, I try and provide a “Recommended Reading” link with every lolpic in the morning. It’s an effort to help spread awareness of the deeper issues plaguing our economy, for cats and humans alike. But as great as the community already is, I’d like even more people to share in our experiences.
So, this week, my personal musings are going to concentrate on how to build an audience in a web 2.0 world. In the interest of transparency—a web ideal that is more relevant now (OBAMA!) than ever—I’m going to tell you about all of my efforts in this space. First up: my push to get on as many blogrolls as possible. The hub of all lolcat activity—I Can Has Cheezburger—doesn’t do blogrolls. So, I’ll have to look to some of the smaller—but still quality!—fry. In keeping with the invaluable we principle of reciprocity, I guarantee a blogroll link back. Let’s start one of those old-fashioned web rings!
So, LOLCatr, LOLCatHaiku, LOLCats.tv, LOLCats 4 Obama, LOLCat.net, and the Infinite Cat Project, I’m knocking on your virtual door. If you invite me in, I’ll do the same.
~Trev
