Paul Krugman, Pay Attention to Me!

Today, a Big Money colleague pointed me toward the blog of none other than Mr. Nobel—Paul Krugman. Krugman is a hero of mine, obvs, and I had to be the happiest econ-minded LOLCat creator in the world when he won the Nobel Prize for economics. So today, when I surfed over to his blog, I discovered that Krugman, like yours truly, is a connoisseur of all things LOLCats.

Now, you might think that since Krugman is a world-renowned economist, he’d be most interested in economy-minded LOLCats a la LOLEconz. But instead he put a (still great) regular LOLCats picture up; and it wasn’t even economically themed!

So, since this is blog-roll outreach week, I’d like to publically introduce Mr. Krugman to our little corner of the Internet. It’s a great place to hang out, and we look forward to seeing LOLEconz on a NYTimes.com blog near you.

With that out of the way, an update on our blog-roll crusade. No mention from the half-dozen blogs I named in yesterday’s post. But I did get an e-mail from a lovely woman named Carole who runs a cavalcade of blogs. Carole is a travel writer and new media enthusiast, but I’m afraid our sites don’t quite mesh. Her blogs are great, but they aren’t specifically cat or economy focused, so I have to be the bad guy (something I hate doing) and politely decline her request to swap roll spots. Carole, I hope this shout-out will make up for my pickiness.

I’m growing a bit frustrated with outreach, but never say die! LOLEconz is a revolutionary product in an evolving marketplace. Some people just aren’t ready to recognize its worth and social value. We’ll convert the naysayers yet.
